Shelby: Shelby is a sweet 8 year-old blond Golden. Dont let her age fool you! Shelby is very frisky and puppy-like and adores her tennis ball and bone. She loves to go for walks and hang out with her human buddies. Shelby needs to be the only pet in her adoptive home, as she becomes quite jealous when expected to share the affection of her human companions. For more information on Shelby, please visit our Goldens with Special Needs page here. |

Annie: is a very happy dog. She loves to play tug of war, chase or hide and seek,& fetch (she's not real good about giving it back yet!). She will shake hands & sit, but her stay and lay down need a little more work. She will play "go to sleep or dead dog" when you have her full attention. She is leash trained, doesn't pull or tug. Annie loves the water, and doesn't mind a bath. She likes being brushed and combed, except for her tail, she will tolerate that as long as someone holds her and talks to her. I think that is because it was so full of burrs and stickers that we had to trim some of it out. She gets along great with the house cat, but would like to chase the barn cats, she probably wouldn't if they'd stop running from her. She minds well for the most part, but like most young dogs can be hardheaded at times. She loves attention, likes to sit next to you and lean against you. She has never got up on the furniture, she doesn't gulp her food, but she will splash in the water bowl sometimes. She loves treats, and doesn't grab them from your hand, and loves apples! Especially yellow ones. added 8/14/2006 |

Gordon: is a 3-1/2 year old male, has a beautiful golden-colored coat. He is housebroken and crate trained. Gordon is great with other dogs, and he loves children. His favorite toys are tennis balls and squeaky toys, although he generally removes the squeakers. Playing in the sprinkler or a kiddie pool is his favorite way to cool off on a hot day. Gordon walks well on a leash and loves going for car rides. He knows several basic commands as well. This sweet boy craves attention and will be a devoted companion for his adoptive family. added 8/20/2006 |

Bernie: is a 5 year old male who was a favorite of the kennel staff during his stay there. While he dislikes small, high energy dogs with high-pitched barks, Bernie and Maggie (also on our website) were the best of buddies when he was at the kennel. He is great with people and adores anyone who gives him attention. Bernie will be a great addition to the family who is looking for a loyal, well-mannered friend. added 07/01/2006 |

Sundance: is a medium energy 2-3 yr old small female Golden Retriever. When she came to GGRR from the state she was a wild child. She has settled down nicely and is housetrained. She loves to play with other dogs, after a warming up period, but sometimes will drive them crazy when outside. When inside, she either entertains herself or lays around. She loves cats. She is extremely smart and very, very sweet. Her ideal home will have a young dog who likes to play a lot, or she would also do great as an only dog. Sundance was adopted by a wonderful family with an 11yr. old boy who is going to have a best buddy now to play with. She is the only dog and so will get all the attention instead of sharing it with her foster brothers. |

Cody: Cody is about 2 years old. He was found wandering the streets in search of a good meal. Having found a generous woman, he got several good meals and his shots. Cody is very high energy, but the sweetest boy ever!! Cody loves balls, knows "sit" and "shake". He's almost completely housebroken and is now starting to get used to wearing a collar. Cody, tipping the scales at 70lbs, has but one eye....his left eye is missing, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. He gets along well with other dogs, and even plays with cats. Cody was adopted August 26, 2006. He has 2 Golden sisters that are 10 (Madge) and 4 (Ellie). His new mom thought that Ellie (also from GGRR) could use a new playmate since Madge was getting older. Also his mom and dad are losing another son to college next year, so they are trying to fill up their empty house! Mom and Day say that Cody makes them laugh everyday with his exuberence. |

Bailey: is a handsome, energetic male who is 3 years old. He gets along well with both dogs and cats. He loves children, but would be best with older children since he weighs 85 pounds. Bailey spends these hot summer days lounging in his kiddie swimming pool. With some basic obedience training, Bailey will make a wonderful companion for an active family. Bailey went to his new home which includes dad and one canine sister. His sister is not sure if she likes him yet, but his dad is crazy about him. His family is very active and will take Bailey to lots of new places and show him what fun is all about. |

Maggie: Maggie is a 2 yr. old high energy female. She 12 grew up in a household with kids and was great with them. She is great with cats. She loves other dogs, but might take a little adjustment as she doesn't quite understand the alpha dog principle. She is very sweet and prefers being by your side. She wasn't taught many manners, so her foster mom is working with her on them. |

Tucker: Tucker is a 5 month old puppy who lost his home. Tucker will be ready for adoption soon. He is currently living with his foster family, and he gets along very well with his 3 golden retriever brothers. March, 2006: Tucker came into rescue approximately 2 months ago, as shown in the picture on the left. The picture on the right was taken in the staging area for Saint Louis' Saint Patrick's Day Parade, held in downtown Saint Louis on March 11th. While the day proved to be a tiring day for the puppy, he managed to walk or be carried through most of the day, letting complete strangers pet him and talk to him. Tucker was adopted on Father's Day. He has a new mom and dad, and a 6-year-old golden sister to play with. |
