Hi, I'm Jake Jake:
is a 7 month old sweetheart. He is very affectionate and loves to play fetch with his squeaky ball. He was raised with another dog that he adored, so his ideal home would have a canine buddy for him to play with. Jake is busy being spoiled rotten by his new family! Now that he has 3 human siblings, Jake is never at a loss for someone who will play ball with him. Other than raiding the buffet table on Easter Sunday, Jake is being a perfect angel in his new home! His Easter gifts included a couple of cans of squeaky tennis balls and getting to spend the night in his sister's bed. Jake must feel as if he has arrived in dog heaven!

Samantha:
Samantha is a small, 7 year 4 months old golden retriever who weighs just 62 pounds. She is getting spayed in late February (2006) and could be available for adoption as soon as she is medically released. Her foster family is working with her regarding potty training. Sam doesn't always communicate when she needs to go outside and has had some accidents in the house. Sam has 3 dogs as playmates in her foster home. She gets along with them all, and plays with them constantly. She would be happy in a home with other dogs. She is an attention hog and will squeeze between foster mom and the other dogs when they are getting petted. She comes when called and is learning to "sit" on command. She would benefit from an obedience training class. She's a very sweet girl and became her foster mom's shadow very quickly.

Are you looking for someone to hang onto your every word? Sam's the one for you!!
Samantha was adopted by her new family in early April (2006). She is absolutely adored. She has adapted well to her new home and their extended family members.

Hi, I'm Champ Champ:
is a 3 yr old small male. He is high energy but is learning how to settle down. He loves to play fetch but hasn't figured out that he has to bring it back to get you to throw it again. He loves the other dogs and the cat in his foster home. He is very smart and extremely sweet. He should go to a home with older kids. Champ found his forever home with a wonderful retired couple. He gets to walk at a park on a daily basis and go for rides with his human dad. He is going to be so spoiled that he won't have time to miss his canine brothers from his foster home. This former puppy mill dog will be enjoying the good life now.

Hi I'm Ralph Ralph:
Ralph is a 12 year old golden looking for a good home with lots of love. He is ready for adoption to anybody who wants an older dog to cuddle and pet. Ralph is great with kids, doesn't need a lot of exercise, and loves his kennel. Ralph will even paw at the door of his kennel when he wants to go in and lie down.

Hi, I'm Dudley Dudley:
Dudley is a 7 year 1 months old male Golden Retriever. He is housebroken and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs and children. He loves to play and go for walks. He is very sweet and would be an asset to any home. Dudley has settled in nicely in his new “forever home”. He is helping to cure the hearts of his new mom & dad, after the crossing of the bridge by their longtime, much loved Golden. As an only dog he is assured of an abundance of love and attention.

Hi, I'm Woody Woody:
is a 6 month male who weighs 55 lbs. He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. He is working on learning basic commands. He hasn't quite figured out yet that he isn't a lap dog.You are guaranteed to fall in love with him as he is the sweetest guy. Woody joined his forever home, including mom & dad and canine brother. His canine brother fell in love with him the first time that they met and is going to be his best buddy. His mom and dad previously adopted from us and have lots of love to give Woody.

Hi, I'm Goldie Goldie:
Goldie is a 8 year old blond female Golden Retriever. She is being surrendered because her owner did not have enough time to devote to her. She has been living for the last 8 months in a barn with another dog and horse. She is very sweet and loves to cuddle. Despite her young age, she is rather calm and is happy just lying at your feet or on the couch with you. She is a little aggressive with other dogs but only growls to show who is boss. She is learning that this is not acceptable. She comes when called and sits on command. She was never on a leash so she is learning how to walk on one. She is undergoing treatment for heartworm and should be ready for adoption in mid December. Goldie has found a new home with a new mom and a canine brother, Milo. Milo was adopted from GGRR previously so we know that Goldie has found a great place to call home.

Hi, I'm Gracie Gracie:
Gracie is a 8 year old red female Golden Retriever. She is being surrendered because her owner did not have enough time to devote to her. She has been living for the last 8 months in a barn with another dog and horse. She is very sweet and loves to cuddle. Gracie is going through the normal 20 month chew stage. She can be destructive so she is being confined when her foster mom is not at home. Gracie comes when called and sits on command. She jumps on people but doesn’t knock them down. She is pretty high energy but that is also normal for a 20 month old. She is looking for a home with people to love her and take her for plenty of walks.
Gracie has found her forever home with a new mom & dad. Mom promises to take her for daily runs. She has also been promised lots of love and attention.

Kramer:
is approximately 13 years 3 months old handsome red male. His owner recently went into the military, and she knows she won't be able to provide a stable home environment for Kramer anytime soon. Kramer loves water, squeaky toys, and rides in the car. His ideal home would have a 6-foot fence, as Kramer is somewhat of an escape artist. Kramer would also enjoy living with an owner who works out of the home. He craves attention and would hate spending too much time home alone. Kramer is recovering from surgery and radiation for cancer and is not currently ready for adoption.

Hi, I'm Annie (Click for larger pic) Annie:
is a 65 pound 1 and ½ year old medium energy dark gold female. She is housebroken and good with cats and dogs. She would like to be a lap dog and loves to fetch tennis balls. She enjoys walks and loves to be petted. She is very sweet and affectionate. She would fit into most any home as long as they can provide the attention she craves. Annie has found her "forever home" with a family who will be able to give her the undivided attention she craves and plenty of opportunity to play fetch and go for walks.

Hi, I'm BJ (Click for larger pic) BJ:
is a high energy 72 lb. 2 or 3 yr old dark red male. He was a stray so we don’t have any history on him. He is very sweet but can be overwhelming. He will take things off of counters, tables and floors. After awhile he will settle down but is always ready for anything you have in mind. He likes to fetch, ride in the car and go on walks. He walks very well on a leash. He is housebroken. BJ has found paradise. He will share his new home with 6 human siblings of all ages. Plenty of people to play with him and love him.

Hi, I'm Bailey Bailey:
Bailey, a 5-year-old golden, came to Gateway Golden Retriever Rescue because she was the only "child" for the first three years of her life and then the folks had a baby. Bailey was extremely jealous and never quite adjusted. Now, with another baby on-the-way, Bailey needed to find another home. She is very sweet, loves to play and very energetic. She loves the foster Mom's dogs, especially since she was raised with another dog. Bailey was placed in a home yesterday. After a short while in foster care, Bailey went to her forever home which includes Mom, Dad and two (human) boys. She is going to enjoy being the only dog, getting lots of attention and playtime with her brothers.

Hi, I'm Buddy Buddy:
Buddy is a 9 month old 55 pound blond male. He has the medium to high energy typical for a puppy. He is crate trained but still has some manners to learn. He likes to chew on paper, pens and most anything you leave laying about. Until he matures and earns run of the house he is safest in his crate when unattended. He also tends to jump on people and bark at inappropriate times. He does come when called and knows sit, stay & out commands. He is housebroken. He would probably enjoy another dog to play with but would also do well in a home without pets. He probably should not be placed in a home with very young children since he can get exuberant. Despite his training issues, he is really quite sweet and could easily steal your heart. Buddy has found his "forever home" with a mom, dad and a canine brother. Buddy was desperate for another dog to play with so he is very happy with his new brother who loves to play. I am sure that mom and dad will give both of them lots of love and attention.

Hi, I'm Rocky Rocky:
is a 2 year old male Golden Retriever. He is very sweet, housebroken and very willing to please.
After many months in his foster home, Rocky's health issues are finally under control! As a result, Rocky has found a wonderful adoptive family to call his own. Rocky's new parents have a huge back yard that is an absolute paradise for dogs, and Rocky has a 2 year-old cocker spaniel for a playmate. In addition, he has two teenaged human siblings who will give Rocky lots of love and attention. Best of all, Rocky and his canine brother are only home alone for 4 hours a day. Rocky's new family first fell in love with him when they read about him on the GGRR website. Getting to meet him in person just sealed the deal! Rocky thinks his new family was definitely worth the wait!

Hi, I'm Golden Sunset Golden Sunset:
is a medium gold 2 year old male Golden Retriever. His foster home is working on house breaking and crate training. He is medium energy but extremely shy. He is looking for a forever home with another dog to play with and love and understanding from his family. After 4 months in foster care, this former puppy mill dog joined Dakota and his dad in his forever home. He went from having no social skills and being scared of everybody to being a dog full of spunk! Now, he enjoys being around other dogs and people. He is getting more confident all the time. Sunset has a big yard and a built-in swimming pool to enjoy; needless to say, he is living the good life now!
Hi, I'm Golden Sunset

Hi, I'm Daisy Daisy:

Hi, I'm Rain Rain:
is a blond 2 year old male Golden Retriever. He is medium energy and shy. He came from a puppy mill so he needs someone with the patience to let him feel comfortable in new situations. After three mothns in his foster home, Rain went from being afraid of anything and everyone - except other dogs - and became a part of his foster mom's family, and heart. He is making wonderful progress in his new home. He loves to play with his brother the Newfie, and loves to snuggle as close to his mom as he can get! He still has a ways to go being comfortable around strangers and new places, but when you look into Rain's eyes now, you can definitely see more and more the joy of life that he deserves.

Hi, I'm Sam Sam:
is a 9 year old blond male. He is housebroken and good with kids. He may be 9 years old but has medium energy and is as playful as a 3-4 year old. He is also good with other dogs and cats.

Hi, I'm Chase Chase:
Chase is a 8 year 7 months old dark red Golden Retriever. His foster mom gave him this name because he LOVES to have you throw balls and toys so he can bring them back to you. He is housebroken, walks well on a leash and loves to go on car rides so he can stick his head out the windows. He’s learning to "sit" and already knew "shake". He’s great around small children and gets along very well with other dogs. He is an exceptionally happy boy who’s looking for a family with an energy level to keep up with his own. Chase was adopted on August 10th, 2005. His new mom and dad are newly retired and they are looking forward to having Chase around to keep them busy with his lively personality. Chase also gets to play with the grandchildren when they visit!

Hi, I'm Schotzee Schotzee:
is a 7 year old dark gold female Golden Retriever. She is medium energy and very affectionate. She is housebroken and good with kids and other dogs. She is not your typical 7 year old. She has plenty of energy.

Rex:

Rex has found a new home with a mom and two sisters. He also lives with a black lab he will have to teach to play and a cat who tolerates him. He will continue to get his daily walks and plenty of TLC.

Andre Andre:
Andre is about 10 months and weighs about 40 lbs. He came from a shelter so we don't know his exact age. He is a typical puppy, however. He is high energy and always looking for fun things to do. He is mostly housebroken and crate trained. He enjoys other dogs and could use some additional training to teach him that jumping is not acceptable. If you have the patience needed for a young dog, he may be exactly what you are looking for.
